CELEBRATIONS have been held after Worcestershire County Council was shortlisted for a prestigious Local Government Chronicle (LGC) Award.
The county council’s ‘Open for Business’ entry has earned a place on the shortlist in the ‘Economic Support’ category.
In the submission to the LGC, the council outlined its support for the local economy by creating an environment to encourage growth; and highlighted the effectiveness of partnership working and engagement with local businesses.
Coun Marc Bayliss, cabinet member for economy, infrastructure and skills, said: “To be shortlisted is a testament to the dedication of all involved so I would like to take this opportunity to thank all colleagues and partners who are committed to delivering the best for our local economy.
The winners of the LGC Awards will be announced at a ceremony on June 8.
