Community urged to get behind Evesham's Britain in Bloom bid

Evesham Editorial 2nd Apr, 2017   0

EVESHAM is entering this year’s Britain in Bloom Competition and residents, schools and businesses are being urged to get involved.

The Evesham in Bloom Committee is hoping everyone will get involved by planting colourful plants, tidying up gardens and my making sure the town is litter free.

Evesham won Britain in Bloom back in 2004 and received national recognition for the win. Organisers of the town’s entry believe winning again will boost the town’s profile and help instill a sense of pride within the community.

The national Britain in Bloom judges and Evesham in Bloom will be deciding on three categories, including schools, businesses and residential, with Gold, Silver and Bronze places for each group. There will be national winners and local winners.

Evesham in Bloom Chair Emma Goodge, said: “We need our local residents, businesses and schools to help us bring pride to Evesham – this really is a fantastic opportunity to make Evesham great again.

“It really does involve the community of all ages. We are asking for our local communities to get involved. So get the kids weeding, the shovels out and get planting.”
