Community outreach team highlights food bank services across the Vale

EVESHAM’S community outreach manager has reached out to the local community to highlight the food aid projects available across the district.

Manager, Diane Bennett, is highlighting the food banks and community groups across the Vale with support from the Evesham Food Bank Forum. The Standard has compiled the information for readers.

In Evesham, All Saints Church food bank is open twice a week on Mondays and Fridays from 11am to 12 noon. One parcel is given per family or individual per week to anyone requiring help. No referral needed.

Caring Hands in the Vale food bank is open Monday to Thursday (12 noon to 2pm) and Friday (3.30pm to 5.30pm) at The Lighthouse, Vine Court. Referral required. Area covered is The Vale of Evesham.




A drop-in diner is also open at Caring Hands on Mondays and Wednesdays during term time between 12 noon and 2pm and on Friday from 12 noon to 1pm.

Their community pantry is open Monday and Wednesday between 12.30pm and 2pm and Friday between 12.30pm and 1pm if any produce is available.


One person per household can access the community pantry and limit is one bag per person. No referral required.

Evesham Adventure Playground has its own food pantry. It’s open Monday to Friday from 10am to 12 noon with staff and from 12 noon to 5pm unstaffed. Users require a Playground Pantry bag at a cost of £2.00 and postcode information. Some items are restricted, most are fresh produce. Emergency hampers available on request, alongside toiletries, cleaning and pet food. Bikes for work available. Free hot meals available at 12 noon each weekday. No referral required.

Lastly in Evesham, Wallace House Community Centre on Oat Street operates on Tuesday and Friday from 11.30am to 12.30pm. One person from each household can access the pantry once a week, although donations from Greggs can be accessed every day when open. The centre holds initials and postcodes for the week and then they are destroyed. No referral required.

Broadway Community Food Bank is open the first and third Monday in the month from 11am to 1pm at St Michael’s Church. No referral needed but visitors must live in Broadway or surround villages (Childswickham, Snowshill, Willersey, Wickhamford).

The village of Pershore has its Community Cupboard and Community Foodbank.

The community cupboard is located at Pershore Baptist Church on Broad Street and open Monday (2.30pm to 3.30pm), Tuesday (9.30am to 11.00 am), Wednesday (5.00pm to 6.30pm), Thursday (2.30pm to 3.30pm), Friday (9.30am to 11.00am), Saturday (9.30am to 11.00am). The centre is saving food from going to landfill. Open for all. No referral required.

Pershore Food Bank located at St. Andrew’s Centre, Church Walk. It’s open on Tuesday (11.00am to 1.00pm) and Friday (1.00pm to 3.00pm). On Fridays an advisor from Citizen’s Advice is available. Area covered is Pershore and surrounding villages. Referral Required.
