COFFEE#1 has revealed it has submitted plans to open a second coffee shop in Evesham.

The fifth biggest chain in the UK is hoping to open a second shop in the town, this time at 8-10 Market Place in the vacant unit next to the Outside Inn.

Bosses from the coffee chain handed their proposals to planners at Wychavon District Council last Monday.

They are asking for permission for the change of use from Class A2 (bank) to a Class A1/A3 use (coffee shop), together with external alterations to the existing shopfront.

If approved by planners, it will be Coffee#1’s second shop in Evesham. They only opened the doors to their coffee shop at The Valley back in August.

According to the coffee chain’s design and access statement, the new shop would create four full time and eight part time jobs.

Coffee#1 is known for its handcrafted coffee and its shops designed with a living room feel with artwork, shelves packed with vintage books and a log-stocked fireplace.

The breakfast menu boasts buttery teacakes, porridge, breakfast baps and savoury croissants to accompany your morning coffee or freshly-squeezed juice.

A selection of soups, wraps and ciabattas are also available for lunch and an array of tea and cakes for the afternoon.

Residents have until Thursday, November 23 to comment on the plans.
