Closure of popular south Worcestershire restaurant all'Angelo announced

THE CHEF and owner of all’Angelo Droitwich has announced his restaurant will be closing after three-and-a-half years in business.

Owner Angelo Petritaj took to social media to state the business would officially close its doors on Saturday (January 27).

He wrote:

“Dear our valued customers, it has been a pleasure for these three-and-a-half years. But after giving it some thought, we have chosen to close for good.

“We will always be grateful for all your custom over the years.”

The award-winning restaurant on Queen Street went from strength-to-strength in its first couple of years, winning its first Rossette for Culinary Excellence in September 2022.

This was followed by multiple nominations in Visit Worcestershire’s Tourism Awards.

However, the business has suffered multiple setbacks, including flooding to the premises which forced the eatery to close more than a dozen times.

Customers and patrons of the restaurant piled in to praise the eatery for its excellent food and service with more than 200 reactions and around 120 comments on the all’Angelo Facebook page.

Many said it was their favourite restaurant in the town and enthused about the lovely food. Others added they would be booking for one last visit and several wished Angelo well for the future.

Lin Reilly said:

“Such a shame. We’ve had many lovely meals with friends at All’angelo.”

Lynne Williams added:

“Absolutely gutted to hear this. Such wonderful food and lovely atmosphere.”

And Karen Read wrote:

“So sorry to hear you are closing.

“I wish you all the best for the future. Thank you for some lovely dining experiences.”

Angelo added:

“I’ve had some amazing years in Droitwich and I’m so grateful to everyone that has come to us and the friends that have supported us over the years.

“I am sure another business will get there and I wish them all the best for the future.

“Thank you Droitwich, for everything.”
