Circus skills and puppet shows heading to Evesham and Pershore's Abbey Parks

Evesham Editorial 31st Jul, 2019

THERE will be plenty of clowning around in Evesham and Pershore this month when circus fun and puppet shows return to the towns’ parks, writes Cameron Mowat.

Circus Skills Workshops take place from 11am to 3pm on August 13 in Abbey Park in Pershore and August 20 in Abbey Park, Evesham.

Visitors of all ages will be able to try their hand at feather-balancing, plate-spinning juggling, low tightrope and more.

Children will have an amazing opportunity to learn something new whilst having fun.

Clive Chandler’s World Famous Punch and Judy show will be back by popular demand at Evesham’s Abbey Park on August 7 and Pershore’s on August 28.

There will be three 30-minute shows at 11am, 1pm and 3pm near the bandstands.

The events have been organised by Wychavon District Council.

Coun Emma Stokes, Wychavon’s Portfolio Holder for the Environment and Street Scene, said “Events like these are a positive and fun way to bring the community together throughout the summer holidays and I think children and families should really take advantage of what’s on offer.

“I urge anyone in Wychavon to go to their local park and join in the fun.”
