Churches together for Easter

Evesham Editorial 26th Apr, 2019 Updated: 29th Apr, 2019   0

AN EASTER weekend of commemoration of the death and resurrection of Jesus brought the crowds out to observe, listen, and reflect.

Along with Christians throughout the world, the 10 churches which make up Churches Together in Evesham and District celebrated Easter.

On Good Friday, hundreds of worshippers held a Walk of Witness through Evesham, stopping in the Market Square and Abbey Gardens for a time of worship and praise to remember the crucifixion of Jesus more than 2,000 years ago.

On Easter Day many met again in the Market Square before going to their own churches to celebrate that after three days Jesus rose again.

A Churches Together spokesperson said: “It was a great time of worship and fellowship and witness to the town that the church is alive and relevant today as much as it ever was.”
