Christmas wishes from the Mayor of Pershore

Evesham Editorial 25th Dec, 2019   0

It hardly seems twelve months since I was writing a message similar to this, the year has flown by so quickly.

Whether we are ready for Christmas or not it will soon be upon us.  The commercial side of Christmas only lasts a few weeks, although Christmas items started appearing in the shops this year in September.  One of the most important aspects of Christmas is surely that of spending time with family and friends and we hope that you all find time to enjoy their company.

We should also spare a thought for those who are not as fortunate as ourselves, the poor, the homeless and those who live alone.  Maybe you could find a few moments to pop round to a lonely neighbour and simply wish them a happy Christmas, it could make all the difference to them.

Once the Christmas decorations are put back into the loft and the New Year parties are over we will be looking forward to 2020 and all that it has to offer.  We may see several changes in our country, who knows, but one thing we should all be grateful for is the freedom that we all enjoy, something other countries can only dream of.

We have many new families that have moved into our town and we offer them all a very warm welcome and hope that they all enjoy their first Christmas with us.

We send everyone our warmest greetings for a very Happy Christmas and New Year

Chris and Jan Parsons
