A POPULAR Evesham choir hit all the right notes to scoop success at the Worcester Music Festival.

The Vale Connection Ladies Chorus are based in the town and have been singing for almost 20 years.

And as well as creating a wonderful sound, the kind-hearted group have also raised thousands of pounds for a number of causes including Birmingham Children’s Hospital and various Alzheimer’s and Cancer charities.

The ladies took to the stage at the Worcester Music Festival and gained a Distinction for their delightfuk A Cappella songs, ‘Java Jive’ and the ever popular ‘Mr Sandman’.

Catherine Walne-Pennington from the group said: “We are always looking for new members to join the group, with or without musical experience.

“A love of singing is important and our fabulous music director, Amanda Ballard makes it so much fun.

“Ladies of all ages and abilities are welcome.” she added.

Members rehearse on Thursday evenings in Evesham, perform in public and for fun and welcome anyone with a love of music

to join.

The group will be making the short trip to the Cheltenham Music Festival this month to defend the honour they won last year.
