A PERSHORE chippy is serving up a treat for a leading dementia charity while looking after the environment with the introduction of re-useable bags.
The jute bags provided by Newlands Fish Bar will raise cash for Dementia UK with £1 of the £2 cost of the bag donated to the charity.
Chippy chief Harry Christodoulou said the move had raised £250 so far.
It’s the latest fund-raising effort by the Newlands business which has raised more than £2,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support in the past.
Dementia UK is a cause close to home for Harry as his mother-in-law is currently battling the illness and has lived with the family for the last four years.
“We thought we would do something different and seeing my mother-in-law’s fight against it Dementia UK we thought let’s do it,” he said.
