ORGANISERS of a walk to support the work of charities across Evesham have revealed it has raised £828.28.
September’s riverside walk was opened by town MP Nigel Huddleston to benefit Evesham Talking Newspaper, the Red Cross, Caring Hands, Daisy Chain Benevolent Fund, Sue Ryder, Garage Art Group, Working World, Shopmobility, Abbey Trust and Vale Wildlife Trust.
Organiser Marion Griffiths thanked all those who took part and in particular town businesses for their ‘spectacular generosity’.
“I am truly grateful to Zimprint, Good Stuff IT Services, Hampton Ferry and Raphael’s Restaurant, the Grapevine Magazine, Tesco, Waitrose, the NHS Living Well Project, Silver Birch Flowers at BHGS, Majestic Wines and Evesham Library,” she said.
“Those going to benefit from this event are, the disabled, those in crisis around the world, the blind, the young and old needing palliative care, those with neurological disorders, those who need help with their mental well-being, Evesham’s heritage and of course local wildlife.”
