A SPECIAL screening of the Eddie the Eagle film will be held at Evesham Arts Centre to raise funds for a charity which helps children develop their sporting potential.
Cotswolds Athletes Support System and Friends will welcome the much loved former winter Olympian Micheal ‘Eddie the Eagle’ Edwards to the screening on April 15.
He will introduce the film before a post-show talk and question and answer session, detailing how his ‘never say die’ attitude took him on a journey to qualify for the Winter Olympics.
The small Broadway-based charitable trust was set up three years ago by Fiona Carter to provide funding to ease the financial burden placed on the young aspiring athletes and their families.
Childswickham athlete Casarena Ferreira has been backed by the charity in her ambition to go to the Olympics as a triathlete.
