AN EVESHAM business centre and self-storage company has been presented with an award in recognition of its charitable work within the community, ahead of its next fund-raising event.

Squab Storage, which is based at Asparagus Point, has been named Business Community Champion 2023 at the Love Evesham Awards.

The award, which is based entirely on public votes, was presented at a special event at Evesham United Football Club.

It was in recognition of work that Squab Storage has done to support charities including St Richard’s Hospice, Evesham NCT Baby Bundles, Caring Hands in the Vale, Evesham Bat Care, Evesham Adventure Playground and Friends of St Richard’s Open Space Charity.

The Squab team have done everything from giving their time and resources to the charities, to collecting donations on-site.

Squab has now announced its latest charity challenge in aid of Maggie’s, a charity which supports individuals and families fighting cancer.

Kelsey Carter, Self-Storage Manager at Squab Evesham, will be putting her best foot forward alongside Rob Sharp, Self-Storage Manager at Squab Rubery, and Andrew Kay, Self-Storage Manager at Squab Leamington, who will take on a 27-mile sponsored walk in aid of the charity.

The team will be walking from Squab Evesham to Squab Leamington on August 13.

Kelsey said: “It is fantastic to named Business Community Champion 2023 at the Love Evesham Awards, particularly when it is based entirely on votes from the public.

“We love being part of the Evesham community and giving back to a whole range of charities, community groups and projects where we can, so it is wonderful to receive such positive recognition.

“We have just launched our next fundraising challenge in aid of Maggie’s. It’s an incredible charity which offers free support to anyone with cancer and their families, and is one that is close to our hearts at Squab.

“I’ve never done anything like this before, but I’m looking forward to taking on the 27-mile challenge with Rob and Andrew to raise as much money as possible for the charity.”
