YOUNG sporting stars at St Andrew’s CE First School have won three sporting festivals, which have provided the opportunity for 53 pupils to take part in competitive sport.
Children competed in the South Worcestershire Boccia Festival and finished third and first overall. This was followed by a cricket festival at Pershore Cricket Club, where the school entered four teams.
One of the teams won the Year 5 South Worcestershire Festival, beating Holy Redeemer in the final by two runs.
Finally, the whole of Year 4 took part in a tri-golf festival at The De Montfort School. They were split into three teams and competed against nine other schools, which was a total of 240 children.
A school spokesperson said: “With a growing number of young people competing in local inter-school competitions this year, we are extremely proud of our pupils for their dedication, hard work and tenacity to all aspects of school sport.”
