Census help is available

Evesham Editorial 10th Mar, 2021   0

SUPPORT is available for Worcestershire residents who have received their census pack, but are unsure how to respond.

The survey, sent out to residents every ten years, gives people a chance to have a say on the future of their local communities.

They can use the census, which must by law be completed no later than March 21, to highlight issues in their area and services which need better funding.

Transport, education and healthcare are just some of the services which communities focus on.

Two webinars will take place over video platform Zoom on March 16 and 17 to help people who are struggling with filling out the census.

Census engagement manager for Worcestershire, Tony Hutchings, will lead the sessions.

He will explain more about the census, how to complete it and how the information captured is then recorded and later used by the county council.

Councillor Lucy Hodgson, cabinet member with responsibility for communities, said: “These sessions are a fantastic opportunity for people to get the help and support they need to complete the 2021 census.

“The information provided on the census is vital to ensure we meet the future needs of local communities, so I’d encourage everyone who needs support to reach out and access it.”
