ONE OF Broadway’s most familiar faces has celebrated reaching the grand age of 104.
Friends and family of Daisy Burdett gathered on Tuesday (August 26) for a big party at the Pitchill House care home in Salford Priors where she now lives.
Daisy is a mother of five children, 24 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren and worked as a cook from the start of the Second World War until retiring at the age of 60.
Before moving to Pitchill House, Daisy spent her time making cakes and puddings for members of her family and the many clubs she was part of. Residents in Broadway were used to seeing her every day walking up and down the High Street.
Karen Holmes, Pitchill House care home manager, said: “Daisy is a much-loved member of the Pitchill House family and we were delighted to be able to celebrate this special day with her.
“Daisy had a lovely birthday and it was great that her family came to join in with the celebrations.”
