Cash boost for much-loved Evesham youth lifeline

CHARITY chiefs at a much-loved Evesham lifeline are celebrating after they scooped a cash boost to continue supporting vulnerable families and young people during Coronavirus crisis.

Ourside Youth Association was successful in gaining a grant from Worcestershire Community Foundation (WCF) to continue supporting those they are already in contact with during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The funding will enable Ourside Youth Centre to redesign its service provision and continue supporting the young people and families in the local community.

Chair Carly Elwell said: “We understand more than ever they need our support in times where they are not able to come to the centre to get it.”

Money from the grant will be used to supply families of young people financially affected by coronavirus with vouchers or physical items such as: food, basic essentials, sanitary products, stationery and phone credit etc.

This is also alongside a safe digital place for young people to connect with information and online youth worker support.

Lucy Wells, development director for WCF said: “We at WCF are very glad we have been able to support Ourside Youth Association with this funding to help them continue with the great work in Worcestershire”

More details on how the money will be used will be released by the charity on their social media pages.
