Carnival’s rallying call for public to help event

Evesham Editorial 8th Sep, 2018   0

A RALLYING call for Pershore people to lend a hand and support the town’s 2019 carnival has been issued.

The call comes ahead of the carnival’s AGM and presentation night at Pershore Sports Club on Monday evening from 7pm.

Certificates will be presented to those who took part in the procession, carnival programme design winners and members of the carnival royalty.

Donations will be presented to Pershore Sea Cadets and discretionary donations will be made from the committee to Pershore Cemetery Memorial Stained Glass Window Fund, Worcestershire Parent and Carers’ Community and Izzie Bird.

The AGM will follow the presentations and will include the election of officers and invitation to join the committee.

Colin Shepherd, Pershore Carnival chairman said: “Pershore Carnival is organised each year by a small group of volunteers who are responsible for all the planning, organising, and fund-raising.

“The planning and fund-raising for 2019 carnival will start this month. We had a fantastic 50th anniversary carnival however in order to continue to make Pershore Carnival bigger and better year on year, we need more people to join the committee.

“We would therfore be pleased to see anyone interested in doing so at our AGM”

Anyone interested is asked to visit the Pershore and District Sports Club, The Bottoms on Defford Road.
