THE LONG-anticipated return of the Vale’s famous carnival is edging closer with events being lined up to kick-start the party atmosphere.
Evesham Carnival is to return this summer after a seven-year absence through popular demand and follows an ‘at the movies’ theme.
The Evesham Carnival Committee has launched a ‘best dressed shop window’ competition following the movie theme where Vale residents can vote for their favourite movie designed shop window via the carnival Facebook page at www.facebook.com/pages/Evesham-Carnival which will keep residents informed as the countdown continues.
The winners will be announced by a judging panel who will view the competing windows the week before the carnival which will be held on Saturday, June 6.
Past carnival queen, Claire Sandalls said: “The theme of ‘at the movies’ will give the carnival a fantastic opportunity for the people of Evesham to come together, have fun and raise some funds for local good causes and charities.”
