Carnival hands £2,500 to good causes

CARING Evesham Carnival organisers handed out £2,500 to charities and good causes during a ceremony in Market Square.

The cash was collected from spectators during the procession at the June 6 event and was generously topped up by The Vale of Evesham Round Table.

Certificates were also handed out to the Best Dressed Floats from the parade with the Dr Dolittle effort by the No Limits team and the Carry On theme from Evesham Hospital Social Club sharing first prize.

The runner up prize was shared by EODS and St Richard’s First School for their Oliver and Lion King themes while Evesham Rowing Club’s True Blue theme and the 1st Hampton Scouts (Up) shared third prize.




A carnival spokesman said: “The committee thanked everyone for their support which helped make the Evesham Carnival such a great event.

“The date and theme for Evesham Carnival 2016 will be announced next week.”
