Cancer support charity to hold event in Evesham to answer your questions

Evesham Editorial 24th Aug, 2017 Updated: 24th Aug, 2017   0

MACMILLAN Cancer Support’s mobile service will be rolling into Evesham to offer free advice and support to residents.

Cancer information specialists will be onboard on the bus which will be stopping at the town’s Tesco store on Worcester Road on Tuesday, September 5 from 9am until 3pm.

The team are encouraging anyone with worries about cancer, whether they are living with it or caring for someone who is, to stop by.

They will be on hand to answer any questions residents might have and to provide information.

They will also be highlighting issues around the financial impact of cancer. This is because research conducted by Macmillan has found 83 per cent of people are on average £570 a month worse off because of a cancer diagnosis. This is often due to being unable to work and having increased costs such as travel to hospital or increased fuel bills.

Danielle Mellows, a Macmillan Information and Support Specialist on the unit, said: “On the date mentioned above, we’re here to answer any questions about cancer.

“Whether you want to know what symptoms to look out for, need advice about managing the side effects of your treatment, or want to find local support for carers, come along and see us. We’d be happy to help.”
