DOG lovers in Evesham are being invited to giving more for their New Year’s resolutions and become a volunteer.

Wickhamford-based Dogs Trust Evesham will hold a volunteer induction day on Saturday, January 26 from 9am to 11am for local people who want to give up their time and lend a paw.

Dogs Trust Evesham relies on the support of its volunteers who gave 5,745 hours of their time in 2018. From walking four-legged friends to helping at events, the work could not continue if it wasn’t for the support from their herd of helpers.

The rehoming centre already has a team of 60 volunteers but the team are busier than ever and say they can never have enough help to keep the rehoming centre running smoothly.

Anyone interested in becoming a volunteer can register for the event where they can find out more about the roles available as well have a behind the scenes tour of the new centre.

Volunteer co-ordinator, Natalie Gould, said: “We are always on the lookout for new recruits and really hope the roles we have available will appeal to a wide range of people. All volunteers will have full training to help them get to grips with their new roles and will get to meet plenty of furry friends along the way.

“If you think you could spare a little or a lot of time to lend a hand, please come along to our information morning.”

Call Natalie on 01386 835853 or e-mail [email protected] by January 24 to register.
