Call for small business to back new town mini market

Evesham Editorial 6th Apr, 2018   0

A RALLYING call has gone out to small businesses in Pershore to showcase their offerings as part of a new monthly event being set up by a town businesswoman.

Pershore Indoor Mini Market has been brought to life by Bee Alicia, of Bee Alicia Photography with the hope of giving small businesses in Pershore and the surrounding areas a shot in the arm.

The indoor market will be held at Pershore Town Football Club on King George’s Lane once a month with organisers offering free parking and free entry to all visitors to the event from 11am to 3pm each month.

Small businesses specialising in craft, beauty, books, homewares, garden, art, local services and much more are being sought ahead of the first event on May 13 with further showcases planned for June 3 and July 1.

Bee told the Observer: “I run a small business in the town and I can’t afford the overheads involved in having a premises in the town such as rent, utility bills etc, that’s why I am an online business.

“It’s the same for many small businesses, they may have a product they wish to showcase but can’t afford to actually show it off.”

She said the idea for the new venture was inspired from her work with the Pershore River Festival in 2012 and said much of what she learned from the festival has gone into organising the Indoor Mini Market.

“We have had a good response from local business so far and I hope more people in a similar position come forward and take a stall with us,” she said.

“We are hoping to fill the room with great products, crafts and services for locals to find and support the local businesses.

“The stalls we have are really cheap and the more stalls we have on the day, the cheaper it will be for small business to come and sell their products.”

“On a Sunday there is not a lot open in the town so it’s a perfect chance to get out and help support local businesses in the town you have never heard about.”

Any business wishing to showcase their products can contact Bee on 07947 177614 or e-mail [email protected] for more information.
