THE TEAM at an Evesham opticians has put their baking skills to the test to raise funds for a cause close to their hearts.

Colleagues at Specsavers made £494 in aid of the Vale of Evesham Community First Responders on September 27 by tempting customers with a homemade treat in return for a small donation.

This is the second fundraiser for the lifesaving cause as the Bridge Street team, which is independently owned and operated,  raised £500 by running a 10km race.

This takes their grand tally total to £994.

“I’m pleased to report our bake sale was a huge success,” said store director Anna Blyth.

“We’d like to say a big thank you to all our customers who stopped by, tried our baked goods and helped us to raise funds for such a worthwhile local cause.

“They do such important work within our area, so it’s vital we support them in any way we can.”
