Businesses urged to get involved with town run

A RALLYING call has gone out to town businesses to lend their support to a popular event which attracts more than 500 runners to the streets of Evesham each summer.

Evesham Vale Running Club’s 12th annual town 10k race will be held on Sunday, July 7 next year and as well as a packed field of adult runners there will be more than 100 children lacing up their running shoes for the junior fun runs.

And now sponsors are being sought to support the event. They could have the raced named after their business or have their names on the publicity.

A variety of packages are available from £50 and interested parties can find out more about lending their financial backing by e-mailing [email protected].

Run director Sam Townsend, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for local businesses to show their support for health and well-being and get their names ‘out there’.

“The sponsorship deals are good value and the investment will benefit several hundred people in the community.”

Evesham Vale Running Club welcomes new members of all standards and has regular club runs on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings as well as supporting the popular ‘Couch to 5K’ beginners’ groups and the town’s popular parkrun.

Funds raised by the fun run are distributed to charities in the area. The club is keen from any worthy causes that they could help.

Applications with the charity’s name, charity number and specific project the money would be used for, should be sent to [email protected] by November 30.
