YOUNGSTERS at the 1st Broadway Brownies are celebrating after kind-hearted shoppers donated almost £300 to fund new camping equipment.
Customers at the Warner’s Budgens Broadway store raised £281.14 through the Warner’s Budgens Community Savings Scheme.
For every £10 a customer spends in the store, they receive a Community Savings token which is then converted to cash to support local projects.
The donation caps a packed 2014 for the group who have celebrated 100 years since Lord Baden-Powell formed the ‘Rosebuds’, later renamed the Brownies.
Guy Warner, the owner of Warner’s Budgens, presented the cheque to the 1st Broadway Brownies and group leader Kate Johns thanked customers.
“We are really grateful for the support, and we are really excited about the new equipment we are now able to buy.” she said.
