A WEEK long music festival will kick off in Bretforton today.

All village groups and societies will be running a stall to raise funds for their organisation and Bretforton Silver Band will be there to entertain fete goers.

There will also be a celebration of the history of the Fleece 40 years after the death of Lola Taplin who was the last in the line of the family that built and lived in the Fleece for centuries.

The highlight of the evening will be a performance of the Warsaw Concerto which has been especially arranged for piano and band. Tickets for this event are £10 and are available from Bretforton Community Shop or on the door.

Other events throughout the week include, a quarter peel of the church bells, a children’s party, Mama Mia sing along and much more.

The week of events will finish with Bretforton Silvers Band’s ever popular ‘Last Night of the Proms’ which starts at 5pm next Saturday in the Butty, Bretforton.

The line up includes Bret Set Go, Dean Bayliss, Betsy Harmony, Beth Harris as well as Bretforton Silver Band.
