THE BOLD sounds of brass band music will be entertaining audiences in Evesham in one week, when the annual competition devoted to its rich harmonies and community spirit returns.
Wychavon Festival of Brass (WFB) makes a welcome return to De Montfort School on Saturday, November 1, and will feature more than 70 performances at the day-long event from bands across the UK.
The competition features performances from bands in different sections (or levels), with bands entering the top (Championship) level having a chance to win a place at the prestigious annual British Spring Festival 2026 in Blackpool.
Prizes are given to the best performances at the close of each banding section, with the Tracy Sollis Cup awarded to the youngest player.
Evesham’s own Avonbrass led by Micah Parsons, will be competing in the Section Three competition.
The 32 members in the band, aged from 18 to 82 years old, were finalists in the National Brass Band Championships in September.
Doors open at 9am and spectators can buy an all-day ticket here for adults costing £10, with children under 16 who are accompanied by an adult being free.
