BROADWAY Bowling Club’s refurbishment funds have been boosted thanks to a grant from the area’s county councillor.
The Kennel Lane club was handed £2,000 from Coun Liz Eye to help with its refurbishment works.
Coun Eyre handed over the cheque to the club’s chairman Richard Pinder, together with the club’s committee.
“Broadway’s club is bucking the trend of poor membership figures suffered by other clubs in Worcestershire. It’s going from strength to strength with a 30 per cent increase in new members last year,” she said.
The club’s new bowling season starts on April 18.
