Book digs into hotel’s history

A BOOK detailing the rich history of the Wood Norton Hotel in Evesham will be formally launched at the iconic venue.

John Hodges will be at the Wood Norton next Sunday (April 12) to promote his book Wood Norton Hall.

The book examines the historic mansion’s early history, the mansion itself and its architect.

John also looks in detail at the Wood Norton’s link with the Duke of Orleans and connections with other Royalty.




His book also promises a detailed recollection of the Royal Wedding in 1907 of Princess Louise of Orleans, grandmother to

King Juan Carlos I of Spain, and Prince Charles of Bourbon.


A guided tour of the hotel will be on offer during the afternoon, which kicks off at 2pm with a glass of bucks fizz and canapes.

John will take to the stage at 2.30pm for a presentation about the book and his tie up with the hotel to bring the many varied

tales of the venue to life.

The author will hold a book signing at 3.30pm at the same time as guided tours of the hotel kick off led by members of the hotel staff.

Copies of the book will be available to buy on the day at the event which is free for everyone to attend.
