POLICE in Evesham are advising shoppers to be mindful of bogus charity workers following a robbery in the town.
On Wednesday, November 29, the victim was in Merstow Green car park when he was approached by a lady who asked him to sign a petition for a deaf charity.
Whilst the victim was chatting to the lady, she grabbed his wrist and stole his Rolex watch.
DC Griffiths said: “All genuine charity workers should have legitimate identification, documentation and a registered charity number on them. Don’t be afraid to ask to see them.
“Please report anyone people suspect of being a bogus charity collector via 101 and ask for police to attend to check the validity of the collector.”
