A BODY has been found in the hunt for missing Evesham man Lee Horton.

Gloucester Police confirmed that a body was found in Gloucester yesterday (Tuesday, March 25) during the search for the 36-year-old and while formal identification has not yet taken place, his family had been informed.

A spokesperson for the force said: “The circumstances of the death are not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”

Posting on the Bring Lee Home Facebook group, his brother Kieran Horton said: “With a heavy heart and deep regret, I’m informing everyone of the news we have received today.

“Sadly my brother’s body has been found.

“Police as they have stated are continuing further investigations, however, we please advise we allow them to carry this out in the best way they can.

“This is not being treated as anything suspicious.”

He went on to thank everybody for their “hard work, time and effort” getting Lee’s name into the public domain and helping his family find him.

“Thank you for your love, kindness and support during this difficult period,” he added.

He asked for people to respect the family’s privacy at this difficult time.

Lee was last seen in Gloucester on March 11 after arriving on a train from Bristol and his family reported him missing on March 12.

The family started a Facebook group, Bring Lee Home, which attracted more than 2,300 members for updates on the search.
