Blackminster level crossing reopens following 'incident'

THE level crossing at Blackminster has now reopened.

It reopened an hour after West Mercia Police tweeted at 8.30pm tonight (Saturday) to say the crossing had closed due to an ‘ongoing incident.’

Officers later confirmed it was due to a man walking down the middle of the train track.

West Mercia Police said: “There was a male reported walking down the middle of the tracks. He was located and will be dealt with by BTP for trespass.

“Evesham Police were called to assist BTP officers.”

British Transport Police said: “Male detained for obstruction in Evesham. Sorry for any delays caused. Reported for the offence thanks to @SWorcsCops for their assistance.”
