A FORMER BMX champion was part of the fun as the Queen’s Baton Relay came to Broadway.

Broadway’s historic tower provided the backdrop for the start of a leg of the Queen’s Baton Relay which also took in Pershore.
Charity champions from across the Vale were handed the honour of carrying the baton on its trip through Broadway with entertainment also laid on for the crowds who gathered to watch.
Among the batonbearers was former professional BMX Dirt Jumper and three times Gold medalist Stephen Murray who was left paralysed from the shoulders down after a crash in June 2007.
Charity champions Laura Powell and Hannah Minnett also featured in the line-up in the heart of the village, following in the footsteps of 109-year-old John Farringdon who kicked off the leg at Broadway Tower.
