MEMBERS of Bengeworth CE Academy’s Pupil Parliament had a taste of real life politics when they visited the council chamber at Evesham Town Hall.
Armed with debate ideas and burning questions, the young politicians were greeted by the current Mayor of Evesham Coun Fred Kaler and town clerk Stuart Carter.
The children were given a comprehensive history of the building as well as the role of the Mayor and the councillors.
And after donning robes worn by councillors, a vigorous debate ensured in the chamber.
A school spokesperson said: “The children’s debating skills were outstanding and there were certainly many budding councillors within the room!
“What a fantastic visit and thank you to Pupil Parliament for being such outstanding advocates for our school.”
