A MAN has been jailed for more than four years for burglary and attempted robberies in Evesham and Pershore.

Christopher Spiers, of Evesham Road in Cleeve Prior, appeared at Worcester Crown Court on Tuesday (August 11) where he was convicted of two counts of burglary at Homebase in Evesham in October 2014 and January 2015, and one attempted robbery on Pershore High Street in April 2015.

The 34-year-old was sentenced to 39 months in prison for the attempted robbery to run consecutively with two concurrent nine month sentences for each of the burglaries.

A suspended sentence from a previous burglary was activated, adding an extra six weeks to Spiers jail term.

Det Insp Helen Wain said: “We are pleased this persistent offender has been brought to justice before the courts.

“Spiers was involved in a number of frightening incidents across Evesham and Pershore, and we would like to thank everybody who has given evidence or supported this investigation.

“We will continue to take investigations of this nature very seriously and seek to bring offenders to justice.”
