Bags of help for town group

SHOPPERS at Tesco lent their support to Evesham Dementia Action Alliance (EDAA) and help secure a £1,000 donation from the supermarket giant.

As part of the Tesco’s Bags of Help scheme, shoppers dropped tokens into a box to vote for the group to be handed a share of the money raised from the sale of carrier bags in store.

Members were on hand to receive the cheque from Tesco Community Champion Lindsay Roach and the funds will be used to continue to make Evesham more and more Dementia Friendly by providing information sessions for EDAA member organisations and members of the public.

EDAA Chair Hein van der Steen said: “The funds will be used to support projects set up by our members and also projects organised by the EDAA.

“Most people know somebody living with dementia and are keen to make Evesham dementia friendly. More can be done if more people join the EDAA as a volunteer.”
