GHOSTLY goings on will be on offer when the curtain rises on the latest performance from a Bretforton group.
BAD Theatre (Bretforton Amateur Dramatics) will stage the supernatural production of Blithe Spirit, the classic comedy by Noel Coward, will be performed at The Theatrebarn in the village from Thursday (March 9) through to next Saturday (March 11).
It tells the story of novelist Charles Condomine, re-married but haunted – literally – by the ghost of his first wife, Elvira, who is inadvertently conjured up by happy medium, Madame Arcarti, at a séance.
The show will be held in the spectacular setting of Bretforton Theatrebarn. A hidden gem of a theatre, it’s housed in a magnificent medieval tithe barn and has comfortable seating, a raked, heated auditorium, and a bar for pre and post-show drinks.
Alice Heather, chair of BAD Theatre, said: “We’re delighted to be back at Bretforton Theatrebarn after our sell-out run there with ‘Allo ‘Allo last year.
“Blithe Spirit promises to be every bit as entertaining and we’re looking forward to treading the boards again for the enjoyment of residents of Bretforton and beyond.”
Blithe Spirit takes place each night for 7.30pm.
