MOTORING enthusiasts have a ticket to ride this weekend as a car gifted to Stella McCartney by her father Sir Paul McCartney goes under the hammer.
The Mercedes Benz 190E 1992 K Reg 2.0 litre was a present ‘from me to you’ from the Beatles legend to his daughter for her 21st birthday.
And many a long and winding road has been travelled by the leading fashion designer with the car remaining in her ownership ever since, racking up 43,000 miles.
Music lovers now have the chance to create their own magical mystery tour when it goes up for auction at Littleton Auctions’ classic cars sale on Saturday (March 18) at the premises on School Lane in Middle Littleton.
Auctioneer Ben Homer, said: “I’ve always had a love of classic cars so this sale is especially thrilling for me.
“We’ve been overwhelmed by the interest and have had some fantastic items consigned to us.
“Stella McCartney’s Merc is already drawing attention but other lots exciting collectors are the VW Karmann Ghia and an example of the classic ‘Back to the Future’ car, a 1981 DeLorean.”
The classic Mercedes is estimated to sell for between £5,000 and £8,000.
