Asparamancer Jemima makes her 2020 predictions

Evesham Editorial 1st Jan, 2020   0

A SECOND term as President of the United States for Donald Trump is among the predictions being made by the Vale’s world famous Asparamancer.

Jemima Packington has once again thrown the asparagus into the air to determine what the future holds in store for the world in 2020.

Using only Vale of Evesham asparagus for the job, her previous predictions have been uncannily and accurately borne out over the past decades.

The famous Gras has determined Trump will emerge on top in November’s election but warned he would face impeachment again, this time it will be carried through.

Concerns about global warming will again take centre stage according to the Asparamancer but more countries will take action to minimise the threat to the planet and pressure will be put on those countries who don’t accept there is a problem.

The instances of storms, typhoons, hurricanes and flooding will increase tenfold, directly attributable to global warming with the UK not immune to bad weather and especially flooding.

Sports and sporting personalities will be embroiled in scandals including some high-profile and much-loved names and Miss Packington said the nation would be shocked by some of the revelations.

On Brexit, she said the UK would leave smoothly and our departure from the EU would not cause the problems which were anticipated. However she predicted a real shake up of the major political parties would take place sooner than expected.

A resurgence of independent retailers and smaller shops will take place on the High Street this year according to the Asparamancer.

The youngest person ever to win an Oscar will be heralded as an acting talent of the future while there will be continued turmoil within the Royal family with certain members being precluded from Royal duties and have their privileges withdrawn but HM the Queen will prevail.

More royal births will be on the cards but royal bereavements too, according to Miss Packington.

A renowned showbiz personality will announce his retirement from public life which will come as a great surprise, but he will receive an honour for his achievements.

Her other predictions include a review of the BBC licence fee with it being reduced or abolished completely and radical reforms and more challenging standards in education from nursery to university.

The interest in veganism will plateau according to Miss Packington as people find it difficult to embrace no animal products being consumed while the Vale of Evesham asparagus will be heralded as the  most prized vegetable worldwide according to the Asparamancer.
