Artwork goes on display

EVESHAM teacher and artist Nicki Reg is exhibiting her artwork as well as amazing acrylic painting created by 31 local youngsters who she teaches in her studio at home.

The exhibition named Beautiful Beginnings: Artistic Generation is on at the Evesham Arts Centre until April 28.

Nicki Reg is inspired by travelling and exploring. Using acrylic paints, she creates realistic, bright and colourful paintings of places, nature and animals. One composition is of her grandad sat in an asparagus field, celebrating the asparagus growing he and his family were very successful at in Broadway back in the 60s.

Her primary teaching background has enabled her to teach local children to promote self-esteem, so they haven’t got the fear that they ‘can’t draw.’ Nicki allows them to paint subjects that they’re interested in, whilst teaching them the fundamental skills of art.

“I am so proud of the children’s achievements. They are so talented and they are growing in confidence. I was overwhelmed with the number of people who attended the launch back in March. I will never forget the smiles and glow of pride from the children when they saw their painting in the exhibition,” she said.

Nicki is growing her business from just picking up a paint brush again back in 2013.

Now Nicki is selling originals, prints, cards, commissions and teaching children and adults art skills especially in acrylic painting.
