AN AREA the size of almost half a football pitch has been destroyed at Avon Meadows wetlands in Pershore.
Firefighters from Evesham and Pershore were called to the landmark yesterday (Wednesday) to tackle the blaze.
While no injuries were reported, the fire has wrecked an area of wetlands 50metres by 50 metres or just over 0.6 of an acre.
