AUDITIONS are being held by Phoenix Theatre in a bid to find actors and actresses aged between 11 and 21 for its next production.
The try-outs for Grease will be between 10.30am and 5.30pm on March 25 at Evesham Arts Centre.
The show, which is being staged in October, will coincide with the 40th anniversary of the film’s release and Phoenix is one of only a few amateur companies to perform it during this milestone year.
Producer Keith Norledge said: “We’ve been negotiating with the rights holders for several months to get the go ahead for this years show.
“With all of the pre-production work just about finished, we are now on the look out for a cast to do justice to the full West End musical script’.”
The production will feature all the songs from the iconic film, including Summer Nights, Greased Lightning and You’re the One that I want.
The story centres on the love story between the two lead roles Sandy and Danny.
“We’re looking for youngsters from around the Vale who can really bring the show to life,” added Keith.
At the auditions there will be a workshop in the morning, outlining details of the show, along with the chance to take part in one of the musical productions song and dance routines.
