THE COUNTDOWN is on to the fourth Pershore Plum Mile with runners from across the Vale invited to limber up and raise cash for Sport Relief.

Organised by Wychavon District Council and Pershore Plum Plodders, the fourth Sport Relief Mile event will take place at Pershore’s Abbey Park on March 15.

Selina Phelps of Pershore Plum Plodders, said: “Our Sport Relief Mile is open to people of all ages and is all about them getting active and having a laugh with friends and family.

“Hopefully the wind and the rain will have stopped come March 15 and runners will have a ‘Spring’ in their step and need sunglasses rather than brollies on the day.”

Mark Williams, sports development officer at Wychavon District Council, said: “All the money raised will go to Sport Relief to help change the lives of people living unimaginably tough lives right here on our doorstep, across the rest of the UK and in some the world’s poorest countries.
