CELEBRATIONS were held after Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust won the ‘Large Apprenticeship Employer of the Year’ award at the 2022 Worcestershire Apprenticeship Awards.
The award recognises the Trust’s ongoing commitment to developing apprentices across a range of clinical and non-clinical roles including physical and mental health nursing, therapists, business administration, customer service, finance and leadership.
It supports more than 170 apprentices and works closely with local universities to support new placements and the ongoing development of existing staff.
Elaine Clough, director of People and Organisational Development said: “One of our People Strategy commitments is to develop and invest our people; equipping them with the skills, knowledge and experience to succeed in their career.
“Whether you are just starting out in the NHS, want to diversify your career path or wish to take that next step-up in your development– we’re here to facilitate that journey”
The Trust has a history of success with its apprenticeship programmes, being named the Worcestershire Group Training Association’s (HWGTA) Employer of the Year last year.
They also saw four apprentices shortlisted in the 2021 Worcestershire Apprenticeship Awards, one of whom went on to be named Apprentice of the Year.
