POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a café on Bridge Street was broken into.

It’s believed the burglary took place between 7.30pm on Saturday, February 27 and 7.30am on Sunday, February 28 when the offender or offenders entered through a side door in an alleyway close to the building.

A small amount of money was taken from the till before the offender or offenders took off back through the side door onto Bridge Street.

Ongoing building work in the area may have made it easier for the culprits to break into the café.

Anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area at the time of the burglary is urged to call police on 101, quoting incident number 188s of 28 February.

Alternatively information can be given anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555111, or via their website.
