THE VALLEY is set to transform itself into Centre Court this week with a free tennis event running to mark the conclusion of Wimbledon.
A giant outdoor screen will broadcast the quarter-finals, semi-finals and the finals for visitors who can take a break in a deck chair and even sample strawberries and cream under the venue’s Union Jack umbrella canopy. The Valley is also installing a tennis court in the mall for locals to practise their tennis skills throughout the event.
Phil Maclean, marketing manager at The Valley, said: “We are all big fans of the Wimbledon fortnight and are excited to bring the atmosphere of Centre Court to Evesham.
“Our Union Jack umbrella canopy has already been a big hit since the Royal Wedding and is perfect for adding to the British atmosphere that Wimbledon brings the nation.”
