ORGANISERS of Evesham’s annual Festival of Light are celebrating after almost 200 people turned out to shine a light on the town.
The second annual event saw 190 people of all ages turned out with 106 various lanterns ranging from the giant swan leading the parade to dainty butterflies of colours and sizes.
The parade saw local schools, scouting and guiding groups and the art garage get involved.
A spokesperson said: “The parade was are a true success thanks to the continued support of many local people and the community coming together to create wonderful memories.
“U3A and the Town Crier added atmosphere to the parade as it would through Abbey Park, past the lit memorial, up around the church yards and then back into the park to go along Bridge Street into the Market Square where we enjoyed the band.
“With the event being a huge success and many new ideas being suggested on the night; 2019 looks to continue this new found tradition bringing the ever growing local community together through light, laughter and memories. “
