Angela takes dog products online

A VALE trader has bounced back from a disappointing end to last year by opening up a new online store.

Angela Hayden opened the doors to Novelty Gifts, Market Place, in September last year, but with the extended Abbey Bridge closure leading to a lack of sales, she was forced to shut up shop on Christmas Eve.

The former Pershore market stall owner, however, wasn’t prepared to give up the ghost, and subsequently created an online site ‘Top Dogs Collars and Leads’ which is run from her home in Drakes Broughton.

“After four years of hard work, lots of money, time and effort I had put into my business I couldn’t afford to let it slip away.” she said.

“So after a much needed rest after Christmas I decided to create a sister company, as I had noticed my sales in dog products had increased throughout the four years.

“I re-vamped my website and focused on dog products. We still have a small collection of Novelty Gifts, with lots being reduced to clear.”

The website was launched in March and sells products such as collars, leads, lanyards, id tags, mugs, figurines and dog cards, along with a donations page and various online offers.

Angela also said she will be looking to help animal charities by offering discounts to rescues and re-homing businesses.

“We want to see the Vale of Evesham thrive and become one of the best towns to shop in, so we really want to encourage local people to use all small businesses.

“If small businesses are to survive they need the local community support and help from local residents to keep the business alive.”
