AN EVESHAM personal trainer has launched regular fitness sessions to support town businesses look after their teams’ mental health and wellbeing

Local personal trainer Dean Phillips is working with companies like Karndean flooring in a bid to promote exercise as a way of taking a break and improving their wellbeing at work.

It’s part a major drive by companies across the Vale and beyond who are investing in their employees’ mental health and wellbeing with regular workouts on site and in lunch hours to suit the needs of their team.

Based on Vale Park, the Karndean team supply homes and businesses with design flooring.

Karndean are already a local success story, having been awarded a gold accreditation in Investors in People and continued their investment in the health of their employees by bringing in the fitness trainer to undertake regular fitness sessions as part of their teams’ working day.

“People really do matter at Karndean. Over the last few months I’ve been so impressed with how much the company have helped promote their wellbeing by investing in me to exercise their employees,” he said.

Dean is keen to share this practice with other local businesses who are keen to promote wellbeing at work.

Along with the obvious health benefits, regular exercise helps organisations to develop their employees, improve performance and demonstrate how people-focused the business is, which in return helps to attract and retain employees.

Head of HR, Helen Glass, said: “It is true to say it’s not just our great products which make this business successful, it’s our people.”
